Tadasana, or Mountain Pose, is the foundation of all standing yoga postures. While it may look simple, it requires engagement of the entire body and teaches correct alignment, balance, and focus.
How to Do Tadasana
- Stand with your big toes touching and heels slightly apart.
- Lift and spread your toes, then place them back down to create a solid base.
- Engage your quadriceps and lift your kneecaps.
- Rotate your thighs slightly inward.
- Lengthen your tailbone toward the floor.
- Roll your shoulders back and down.
- Hang your arms beside your torso.
- Balance the crown of your head directly over the center of your pelvis.
